TERRACOTTA WORKSHOP
(15TH MAY TO 28TH JUNE 2009 AT SHILPGRAM, UDAIPUR)
 
 
West Zone Cultural Centre organised a 45 Days Terracotta Workshop under Cultural Industries Pilot Project with financial support of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India at Shilpgram, Udaipur between 15th May to 28th June 2009.

25 artisans from member states of WZCC i.e. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa participated in the Workshop. Four trainee artisans also participated.

In the initial 30 days, experts like Ms. Kavita Pandya Ganguli from Gujarat, Shri Gopal Uttam Kudaskar from Goa and Shri Jayant Nayak from Gujarat were called each for 10 days.  In the remaining period following experts made all the endeavours for improvement in the quality of the products – Shri Amit Kharsani, Ms. Nilima Hasija both from Ahmedabad, Ms. Gungun Thanvi, Komal Sharma, Prem Lokesh from Jaipur. The other experts who imparted skill and knowledge in other concerned areas are - Shri P. K. Khullar, Dy. Director, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Govt. of India, New Delhi for Designing; Shri M. L. Meena, Asstt. Director, DC (HC), for Marketing; Ms. Lakshami Murthy for Work Culture in NGOs; Shri Giridhar Soral for Cost Evaluation; Shri Pramod Kumar Garg for Working of Banks; Shri Sunil Sharma for Marketing; Shri B. S. Garg, CEO, Zila Parishad, Udaipur for Self Help Groups formation.

An Exhibition was also organised between 28th June to 15th July 2009 after the Workshop at Kala Vihar in Shilpgram, Udaipur.
